Late Summer, Local Flavor: What to Eat & Drink This Month

        By Laura Leiva

Seasonal eating is easy (and delicious) this time of year. Here are five things to add to your grocery list before you head to the store:

        Farm-Fresh Produce
Tomatoes, peaches, zucchini, and berries are at their best in August. Shop local markets for the freshest picks and support nearby farms.

        Fresh Fruit Smoothies
Blend your favorite fruits with yogurt or juice for a nutrient-packed treat. Add spinach or chia seeds for an extra wellness boost.

        Tomato & Corn Salads
These two ingredients are late-summer staples that pair perfectly. Toss with basil, olive oil, and feta for a quick meal or side.

        Homemade Popsicles
Use pureed fruit, coconut milk, or flavored water for a refreshing snack. Get creative with layers, molds, and mix-ins.

        Herb-Infused Water or Lemonade
Mint, basil, and rosemary make hydrating drinks taste extra special. It’s a simple upgrade that feels fresh and fancy.

Eating with the season is a delicious way to enjoy everything summer still has to offer.
